9月 2026 — Siemens Energy will officially join the International Copper Association (ICA) as a new member, strengthening collaboration between the copper and energy technology sectors at a time of growing global demand for sustainable energy systems.

Siemens Energy is one of the world’s leading energy technology companies, with operations in nearly 90 countries and technologies that support approximately one-sixth of global electricity generation.

The new membership reflects ICA’s commitment to advancing copper’s role in the future of energy and brings an organization with longstanding connections to ICA leadership into its global membership.

Prior to joining ICA, President and CEO Juan Ignacio Díaz spent 15 years at Siemens in a variety of leadership roles, including CEO of Siemens Chile, CEO of Siemens Mexico, General Counsel, and Vice President and COO for the U.S. and Latin America.

“Siemens Energy’s membership reflects ICA’s commitment to advancing copper as a cornerstone of the global energy transition,” Díaz said. “This partnership is also personal. As a member of Siemens, I first saw the company’s innovation and leadership. We look forward to bringing our organizations together to advance shared priorities for copper and the future of energy.”

Steve Rowland, Chair of the International Copper Association, also welcomed the new member.

“Siemens Energy joins ICA at a pivotal moment for the copper industry,” Rowland said. “We look forward to their insight and perspective and to building on the longstanding connections between our organizations.”

The partnership was  formally recognized on 9月 29 in Berlin, when leaders from ICA and Siemens Energy will come together for an official membership signing. ICA President and CEO Juan Ignacio Díaz will join Siemens Energy representatives Mandeep Bhardwaj, Global Commodity Manager; Alexander Russ, Head of SE Procurement Direct Materials; and Benjamin Seelisch, Head of Corporate Commodity Management Raw Materials.

The signing marks the beginning of a new chapter of collaboration between ICA and Siemens Energy and an opportunity to explore shared priorities around copper, energy technology and the future of the global energy system.
