Effective 一月 1, 2026, Gold Mountains (H.K.) International Mining Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd., officially joined the International Copper Association (ICA), further strengthening its collaboration with global industry partners. This move reflects Zijin Mining’s proactive engagement and steadfast commitment as a world-class multinational mining group to advancing sustainable development across the global copper industry.

The International Copper Association is a leading global trade association representing copper producers and related stakeholders. It promotes the sustainable use and market development of copper through scientific research and industry initiatives. The ICA actively champions copper’s critical role in electrification, decarbonization, and digitalization, while supporting resilience and stability throughout the global copper value chain. The association currently comprises 35 member companies—including copper miners, smelters, and leading manufacturers of copper and copper alloys—that collectively account for approximately 50% of global copper production.

Gold Mountains’ membership underscores its position as a major global copper producer and marks a significant step in deepening international industry collaboration. In recent years, Zijin Mining Group has established a global operational footprint centered on copper as one of its core commodities. Mr. Lai Chang Zou, Chairman of Zijin Mining, stated: “Joining the International Copper Association reaffirms our long-standing commitment to responsible production, sustainable development, and technological innovation in the copper sector. We look forward to actively participating in industry dialogues and collaborative initiatives, working hand-in-hand with the ICA and its members to drive technological advancement and industrial synergy, reinforcing copper’s role as a key material in the energy transition, and jointly building a more responsible and resilient global supply chain.”

Stephen Rowland, Chair of the International Copper Association, and Juan Ignacio Díaz, President and CEO of the ICA, welcomed Gold Mountains’ membership: “As global demand for copper accelerates, collaboration across the value chain is more important than ever. Together with our members, Gold Mountains will help shape a copper industry that delivers the materials the world needs to advance sustainable development. Gold Mountains brings significant scale and technical capability that will contribute meaningfully to ICA’s mission and to the global energy transition.”

Looking ahead, Gold Mountains will adopt a broader global perspective, leveraging its integrated strengths in resource development, technological innovation, and green operations to deepen cooperation with the ICA and its members in advancing sustainable development across the copper industry. The company will actively engage in industry dialogues, foster technical exchange and innovative practices, and promote best-in-class models for responsible production and sustainability, further building a closer “community with a shared future” to ensure more people benefit from Gold Mountains presence and growth.
