The International Copper Association (ICA) is streamlining its global brand. As a result of this brand realignment, ICA’s European Union representative office in Brussels, the European Copper Institute, becomes the International Copper Association Europe (ICA Europe).

This visible refocus on the core brand does not change ICA Europe as a convenor of interests and dialogue within the wider copper sector or as the leading authority on copper in the EU.

At the same time, ICA Europe announced Quentin de Hults as its new Director General.

Quentin de Hults joined ICA Europe three years ago. A mechanical engineer by training, he spent his entire career working on topics related to the energy transition. Before joining ICA, he worked for 13 years at BASF, established and led the Modern Building Alliance, and accumulated over 10 years of experience in EU government relations.

Quentin de Hults stated that ICA is a key partner in the EU’s decarbonisation and raw material agenda: “Copper is a strategic raw material for the energy transition. I’m eager to work with EU policymakers, partners, and members on these matters, and to showcase the tremendous work of ICA members on responsible sourcing and decarbonisation in and out of Europe.”
