Buildings in the EU have a huge decarbonisation potential for our economy. The revision of the Energy Performance in Buildings Directive (EBPD) sets the legislative framework for the buildings of our future to slash their carbon intensity and to support integrated, renewable-based energy systems and energy efficiency with smarter buildings.
The ECI-Leonardo Energy debate series Road to zero-emission buildings will explore different aspects needed to achieve net-zero buildings, from the application of the energy efficiency first principle and energy systems to consumer needs and training professionals.

#1: Road to zero-emission buildings: Energy efficiency first
This first webinar explores how we can minimise losses in buildings as we exponentially electrify the economy and maximise the reuse of waste energy. Efficiency improvements of the building envelope, such as insulation and glazing, are well known, but what about technical building systems? Are there still opportunities to gain energy savings and improve system efficiency? How do we ensure these solutions are taken up within the legislative framework?
