Eduardo Mencarini is a Partner at McKinsey, responsible for its MineSpans Solution and specialized in mining and metals commodities. He has worked for 16 years as a mining expert, focused on copper, iron ore and steel, with broad global experience.
Eduardo has lead the MineSpans Solution for the past seven years, which combines public data with McKinsey insights to deliver reliable, robust and flexible cost curves, supply and demand, and carbon emissions outlooks for 12 metals and mining commodities. In the past three years, he has also led the development of models and assets focused on the role of commodities in the energy transition, decarbonization and sustainability topics across the value chain.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Eduardo worked for two years as a junior consultant in an NGO: Social impact evaluation of the Ashoka-McKinsey Entrepreneurship Program with NGOs in Brazil. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and an MBA in Operations Management from the University of Sao Paulo (USP).
