International Copper Association Elects Marna Cloete as Vice Chair

The International Copper Association (ICA) announced that Marna Cloete has been elected Vice Chair of the organization.

As President and CEO of Ivanhoe Mines, Cloete has led the development of the Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and has championed education initiatives through the Kamoa Centre of Excellence. Her leadership and global perspective will continue to strengthen ICA’s work across the copper industry.

“I’ve always believed in the power of collaboration, and that’s what makes this opportunity with ICA so meaningful to me,” said Cloete. “Bringing together leaders from across the global copper industry to share ideas, tackle challenges, and support a more sustainable future is exciting. I’m honored to take on this role and look forward to the work ahead with the ICA community.”

ICA thanked Cloete and Ivanhoe Mines for their continued commitment to the association and its governance, as the organization advances copper’s role in supporting a more sustainable and electrified future.
