CMOC Joins the International Copper Association to Advance Sustainable Industry Development

January 1, 2026 CMOC Group Limited (CMOC) will officially become a member of the International Copper Association (ICA), and is currently the only Chinese company among its members. This marks an important step in CMOC’s commitment to responsible development in the global copper industry. The International Copper Association is the world’s leading industry organization representing copper producers and stakeholders. It promotes the use of copper worldwide, safeguards the integrity of the copper market, advocates for copper’s essential role in electrification and decarbonization, and supports long-term resilience and sustainable growth across the copper value chain. ICA currently includes 34 members from six continents, collectively representing over 50% of global copper production.

CMOC’s membership underscores its position as a leading global copper producer and reinforces its strategic focus on copper as a core business segment. The company has built a strong and fast-growing copper platform, supported by large-scale, long-life operating assets and guided by a steadfast commitment to responsible operations, safety, and sustainability.

A CMOC executive stated: “Joining the International Copper Association reflects our long-standing commitment to the copper industry and to the principles of responsible mining. In recent years, CMOC has emerged as a top-tier player in the global copper sector, demonstrating robust growth. The company produced 650,000 metric tonnes of copper in 2024. Through its ICA membership, CMOC will actively engage in industry dialogues and collaborative initiatives to promote sustainable copper production, foster innovation, and champion best practices across the global copper value chain.
